Classy, Elegant Charleston Wedding + Styled Event at Gadsden House // Orange + Blue + Pink Colors

The recent styled-wedding event held at the Gadsden House in Charleston, South Carolina was an A+ vendor collaboration and production.

The event was orchestrated by one of the Southeast's premier wedding planners, Intrigue Design and Events.

The experience and vendor connections that Intrigue Design and Events cultivated through years of unmatched service and vision created a one-of-a-kind Charleston experience. Event hosts, Katherine and Tyler, worked closely with Intrigue Design and Events to welcome other vendors and create a supportive environment for attendees to discuss business and learn from one another.

The day started with a meet and greet, followed by photographers breaking into smaller groups to photograph different stations prepared throughout the Gadsden House. I began by capturing event details designed and provided by stationery expert Invitations by Whitney, along with Pretty Written Things beautiful calligraphy, provided by artist Karissa O'Keefe.

Invitations were provided by Whitney.

Pretty Written Things.

The jewelry, provided by Edera Jewelry, was exquisite, providing an heir of distinction and traditional glamour. In fact, Edera Jewelry is centered around the traditional idea of handmade lace being one of the most precious parts of a bride's wedding day.

"Edera updates this tradition for the modern bride, with a collection of romantic jewelry and accessories that showcases intricate lace motifs."

Along with the stationery and jewelry, the signage and floral decor provided by The Luxe and Co was over-the-top extravagance.

The event focused on Charleston's classic and timeless vibrant colors with the additional twist of deep, fall hues. Colorful pops of deep orange and maroon were perfectly combined with the light blush tones of pink roses. The historic Charleston blue was tied throughout all event details... even the groom's high-fashion tuxedo provided by Charleston Tuxedo.

After capturing event details, my group moved upstairs to the Gadsden bridal suite. It was in the bridal suite where we were first introduced to the model bride. Obviously a veteran in the fashion world, Kayla Brooke moved with assurance and grace, easily transitioning from one pose to the next with seamlessly fluidity.

Stunning hair stying and makeup was provided by the elite team of beauty experts, Silhouette On Site.

Kayla donned a refined, elegant gown provided by the upscale bridal boutique, Tiffinie Bleu Bridal Boutique, based in Augusta, Georgia.

Following the bridal suite portraits, my group moved outside to photograph the Gadsden venue. The Gadsden house is "one of the tallest and most finely detailed of Charleston's Federal single houses" which makes it easy to love the property and history captured in each modern-day image.

The King Street Hospitality Group catered the event with beautiful charcuterie boards delicately lined with fresh berries, nuts, cheeses and spreads, along with signature cocktails that not only were easily photographed, but whet the palette with delightfully cold bubbles and wickedly delicious flavor.

The wedding cake was provided by Delicious Desserts, an amazing Charleston bakery specializing in high-end wedding cakes and fine desserts.

The seating arrangements, tables and other furniture decor was provided by Ooh! Events, a full-service event and wedding production company.

One of my favorite locations to photograph outside was the stunning, custom-designed backdrop provided by Jessica Raye Dekker, owner and artist at JRD Artshop in Charleston, South Carolina.

I loved the backdrop so entirely that I purposefully did not crop many images of the bride and groom. The non-cropped portraits have an editorial vibe, showing the juxtaposition of an indoor studio backdrop in an outdoor setting.

What makes Charleston, South Carolina such a fabulous destination wedding location?

It is the variety of top-notch, Lowcountry vendors that produce quality, high-end events, combined with the rich culture and history that Charleston uniquely provides.
